Copywriting for the Web
Within this article on Web copywriting, we will look at copywriting in general and how to succeed in this particular niche of copywriting. Copywriting is a growing field but some of the greatest growth is coming in the niche of Web copywriting.
There is a great deal of demand for Web copywriting today as more and more people realize the importance of good web content. This is critical for two reasons and explains why there is such a demand for Web copywriting.
The first reason is that there are more than 4 billion web pages out there according to Google and this number continues to grow by leaps and bounds every day. With such a large number of web pages, it is very hard for your website to get noticed if you’re writing average content that no one wants to read.
The second reason that is important to have good web content is that it will give you a better chance at having your website indexed. The way that websites are indexed is that search engines have search bots go through and find different web sites. The search bots analyze the page and look for particular keywords. To truly know what you should write when developing a website, you need to have some knowledge of Web copywriting. There are many different factors that go into getting your website indexed and noticed by the search bots so this is where experience in this arena can greatly help.
If you have experience in Web copywriting, you will find that you will have a great deal work available for you. You can write Web content for other websites as well as sales letters and other types of marketing materials for webmasters. In addition to the reasons that you must write good web content, this content must also be easy to read for your prospective audience so that the traffic driven to a website can be converted into sales.
Web copywriting will continue to grow in leaps and bounds due to the difficult nature of this task. You must work to get your website noticed by both search engines as well as human audiences. This is a difficult task because you’re writing for two audiences as opposed to one and trying to make sure that you are making sales at the same time.
Hopefully this article on Web copywriting has given you some good information. There are a great deal of opportunities and it is a very flexible and high-paying occupation due to the fact that you can acquire work from around the world if you have an Internet connection. You’ll want to take some time to read more about the field so you have a better grasp of how you should write for people.
Any person can write Web content but it takes a strong copywriter to write content that can sell as well as get indexed. This is a field which isn’t the easiest to learn, so be sure to expand your Web horizons as much as you can. Keep reading articles and books on the subject and keep practicing and you will get there.
Getting a Buzz On
Viral marketing has matured a bit over the years. There seems to have been a shift to the web of not just being seen by agencies and brands as another tick box for any ad campaign, which is significant enough, but now being the medium where a campaign is launched to create a buzz before it hits TV and print. This is buzz marketing.
Even before a movie is released there are trailers, reviews and downloads all over the web, which is seen as the pre-launch buzz-generation activity even before the theater trailers and movie and print ads are launched. Pepsi, Budweiser and numerous other name brands have Facebook fan pages. Red Bull and others have videos on YouTube and a multitude of other video sharing sites. Believe me… Big business “gets it”.
Why? Because buzz marketing works! It can work for small and start-up businesses, as well. The planning stage of a viral campaign will set out the objectives and develop the viral theme for the buzz. These objectives are developed using three core components that are vital to any viral campaign and businesses of any size can use them. They are:
1. The creative material: the viral agent that embodies the message you want to spread in a digital format (image, video, text, audio or any combination of them). The trick is to put together material that people will be eager to share with their family and friends. And guess what? People are much more eager to share “advertainment” than an advertisement.
2. Seeding: Distributing and placing the buzz agent online in places that provide the greatest potential spread. Direct viral material downloads or links on specialist viral third-party web sites like Youtube, Twitter and Facebook in order to create brand awareness and spread the buzz before the viewers get to the campaign destination site.
3. Tracking: Measuring the spread of the buzz marketing campaign to provide accountability and prove success. It is absolutely vital that you know what is or is not working so you can put more resources towards what is doing you the most good. The only way to get that information is to track the results of your seeding.
Lessons have been learned, trends have been developed and there is definitely some science involved in creating a buzz successfully. The buzz marketing technique is here to stay and, if used strategically, it can make a huge difference in your viral campaigns and to the success of your e-business.

Network TV Ads for Internet Marketers
If you haven’t heard, Google has a new service, as part of their Adwords line, where you can upload your TV commercial and buy airtime on national cable networks from your own computer… And you can get these ads for $100 or maybe even less!
I know what you’re thinking… “You gotta’ be out of your mind! How can you get an ad spot on national TV for $100 or less?”
Well, Seth Stevenson, one of the editors of Slate V, recently did an experiment with it and had fairly good results. Their ad actually aired 54 times to 1.3 million viewers at a total cost of $1300 on various networks including Fox News, during the late-night Glenn Beck show re-runs…
Here’s a short video that explains it all:
My understanding is that you bid on the airtime from Google tv ads, much like you bid on keywords for a regular Adwords campaign. The lower bids are going to be on more obscure channels and during off-peak times, but if you have the budget for it, I suppose that you could get your ad on anywhere, even during prime-time…
Anyhow, just another possible market to drive traffic to your site. Hope you enjoy and I’ll be looking for your ad on ESPN soon!

Why Viral E-books Work
It is a well known and widely accepted fact, that E-books… FREE E-books… are one of the best weapons in a viral marketing campaigns’ tool chest. Here are a few good reasons why this is true today and will continue to be true for the foreseeable future.
E-books are cheap to produce and don’t take long to set up. If you have articles that you have already written about the subject you are promoting, you can simply combine these articles into an E-book. If, on the other hand, writing isn’t your forte, you can use rebrandable or PLR E-books that have been produced by others. Just use your favorite search engine and do a web search for “rebrandable E-books” or “PLR E-books”. You will get a lot of hits and have many to choose from. One way to distribute these E-books to visitors to your website is to give them as a free gift for subscribing to your newsletter. If your E-book contains material that people will want to share with their friends and family, they will pass it along to them… they will pass it along to others… and you will make money.
E-books are capable of reaching a large audience. The only limiting factor is the enthusiasm or the participants. Therefore, it is absolutely vital that your E-book contain something that people will want to share like timely information or humor. Remember that people like to know something that the rest of the world needs to know. They will pass along something that makes them look like they are in-the-know.
E-books are a way to sell other products other than the one you originally targeted. For example; if you are selling garden products, your customers could also be interesting in E-books about lawns, trees landscaping, etc. Having affiliate links to some of these sites embedded into the book will enable you to profit from any purchases they make.
E-books are effective in building your reputation. It is an implied recommendation if you give a quality E-book and users willing pass on to others.
Free E-books give you an opportunity for back end sales. When your new subscriber confirms their subscription and are directed to your download page if you have them land on a One Time Offer page first, you can pick up a few sales right away from your new subscribers. A message at the top should tell them that their download link is at the bottom of the page. You can either have them download their freebie directly from that page or have the link move them to a regular download page where you have a banner for another product beneath the link, making the possibility of another sale.
Using a Tell-A-Friend Script on the download page, will get your prospects sharing your E-book right away. If you offer them another freebie just for telling their friends about your page, you can multiply the viral efforts of your E-book.
Viral E-books are a great resource to add people to your list. When you combine them with back end sales and a Tell-A-Friend script, you can start making money and expanding your viral efforts immediately. If you need an example of a viral E-book and how to make a campaign work, just look at the previous post and register. There’s no back end offer or Tell-A-Friend with this campaign, but the complete set-up for list builders, keeps the book moving.

Power List Building
I’ve just finished writing a new report on list building. Its called: “Power List Building for Newbies”. Truthfully, even if you are an old pro marketer, there are ideas in this eBook that you can use.
If you’ve ever wanted to build a list, this report will give you loads of ideas as to how you can build it. It covers the basics for the new marketer as well as giving tons of pro tips. If you can’t build a list after reading this… You aren’t trying!
Oh!!! I forgot to tell you the best part… Its free! All you have to do is enter your name and e-mail below and I’ll send you a link to downoad it… BTW, if you are already on one of my internet marketing lists, I’ve already sent you a link for it… So check your messages!

Don’t Buy the Bonus Hype!
Alot of hype and advertising is floating around concerning giving bonuses as a way of enticing people to buy through your link. Some of the biggest is for the My Best Bonus Offer membership site. There are many reasons why this site is not your best solution for offering those bonuses. And there are even reasons why you may not even need a bonuses to outperform someone who is offering them.
While it is true that many of the gurus do use this tactic and it can be a deciding factor in whether a customer buys or not; there are still other ways to increase your conversion rates. The best way to increase your conversions is to build a good strong relationship with your marketing list. If you consistently give your list valuable free content, they are going to respect your opinions on other products related to your niche. If you have their respect, many will buy from you on your word alone.
I get tons of great, entertaining, free stuff from Frank Kern and have learned a lot from him over the years by just being a member of his list. I get loads of e-mail from marketers every day, most of which I do not read… I always look at an e-mail from Frank. He has my utmost respect.
An e-mail I received from him a couple of years ago regarding a huge launch didn’t do anything to hurt that respect. Basically, what he told his 100K+ member list was… I know you’ve seen a lot of hype for this new product and people are offering huge bonuses for you to buy it. Don’t buy it from me! (He included his affiliate link in that statement) This other marketer (I don’t recall who it was) has the best bonuses out there for this product.
OK… You are probaly thinking: “This guy is giving away huge commissions!” Well, yes and no. I can guarantee that several of his list members bought from his link. Of the ones who bought from the other guy; Frank earned himself a ton of credibility for being upright and honest about his bonuses. Plus, he probably hooked a few people who weren’t going to buy it, as well!
About My Best Bonus Offer… I don’t have an affiliate link for the site. Personally its not something that interests me and this is why:
- If you have a ton of people giving away the same bonuses, it diminishes the power of that bonus
- Your bonus should further enhance your credibility in your niche so it should be a product with your name on it
- You can find the same items from any number of membership sites and put together your own bonus package
- Credibility with your list will take you a lot further with them than any bonus you can give them
So, there you have it. Build good credibility with your list. Be honest in everything you do. If you are going to offer a bonus, make it something that will increase your status as an expert in your niche. Don’t be offering the same boring, mundane bonuses as everyone else. Be yourself… It will take you farther than you could have ever dreamed.
Facebook vs Google
There’s been a lot of buzz recently about the value in using Facebook ads instead of Google Adwords for your PPC ad needs. This is something that many people discovered over two years ago when Facebook first launched their ‘social ads’ in November of 2007 and progressed it on into the site ads that they have today.
The truth is that Facebook ads cost about half of what Adwords do. You can also get a more targeted ad from Facebook, by selecting age groups and locations to advertise to, in addition to any key words that you designate. So the question becomes: “How do I use Facebook ads to promote my site”?
The first thing is to identify who your target market is. If you are promoting a product that cures acne, you will not be wanting the middle-aged market but would set your sites on teenagers.
The next thing will be to ensure that you have good ad copy. You can get all of the demographics right for your audience, but if your ad copy sucks… No one will click on it!
If you want your ad to really pay off, be sure that when the ad is clicked that the product your pitching has a good sales page. There’s no sense in taking the time to write a good PPC ad and target it to the right audience if the sales page isn’t going to hook them when they get there. A good sales page will have be one that gives the prospect multiple reasons as to why they need that item and then follow it up with a price and copy that makes it seem to be a real value to the prospect.
If you are using the ads to drive traffic to your own site, the same rules apply as above. Good demographics, good ad copy and a top converting sales page or content. If its your own site or product, you have more flexibility than you do when promoting someone elses. If something isn’t working on your sales page, you can always rework your pitch, whereas with someone elses product, you have no control over their sales page.
One other point to consider is what you have to pay for your ad. The more highly targeted your ad, the more you will probably have to pay for clicks on it. Like Google Adwords, Facebook uses a bidding process to determine what you pay per click. The more popular the keyword and the most popular demographic groups are going to have more bidders for them and the cost will be higher.
Its best to start small and do a test ad to see how well it converts, before sinking a ton of money into an ad campaign. The same goes with Adwords or any other network that you may try. Test first and if it converts well enough to make you money, then expand the campaing and put more money to it.
The same ad copy that works on Adwords may not work on Facebook, so if you’re thinking of dropping all of your Adword campaigns and transferring them to Facebook, then do it carefully. If you’re making money with the Adwords campaign, transition it slowly to see if its going to make you more money. Chances are it should, but nothing is guaranteed. Always test first.
